Editorial Independence
The American Brief exists to serve readers, not advertisers, sponsors or political interests. This page states the commitments that protect that independence.
Separation of News and Business
Editorial decisions — what to cover, how to cover it, and what to conclude — are made by the newsroom alone. Advertisers and sponsors receive no preview of coverage, no veto over stories, and no influence over conclusions. Commercial staff do not direct news coverage.
Sponsored Content
Paid content, when published, is labeled "Sponsored" in a way readers cannot miss, is produced outside the newsroom's editorial process, and is never written to imitate news reporting. See Advertising & Partnerships.
Conflicts of Interest
Writers and editors must disclose financial or personal interests that could bear on their coverage, and are reassigned where a conflict exists. Gifts and paid travel from sources are not accepted.
No Political Affiliation
The American Brief is not affiliated with any political party, campaign or government body, in the United States or elsewhere. We evaluate claims by evidence, whoever makes them.
Accountability
Our Ethics & Standards and Corrections Policy are public. If you believe we have breached them, we want to know — and we will answer.
